So I've submitted two pieces to the OCADU Printmaking Exhibition at John M. Parrott Gallery in Belleville, ON.
1. "Dwelling"
This work demonstrates dwelling on the past, when two sides of my family were together. For me, this is weird to think about, so I used an image containing a clown -- a figure many people are afraid of. This is up for $50.
2.
This is a rubylith cut screen print. 4 colours. Gold, cream, dark red, and brownish black. The girl has antlers and deer ears as an obvious way to show she's different. She's trapped in the picture frame because she feels like everyone judges her because of how she looks. Also, the off registration is intentional. She's not the type of person that's all lined up. This is up for $75.
